Leidy and Zawady work tirelessly for the festival, where Leidy would be the first female champeta singer to perform. They record a song and Zawady even teaches her to dance. Meanwhile, Damaris grows jealous of Leidy. After weeks of preparation, they find out the festival is canceled for the year, leaving them disheartened. When Leidy gets home, her mom, furious over her missed school days, forces her to choose between music and home. Zawady offers her a place to stay under one condition: she must never ask about anything she sees there.
